| So I got an internship (for those of you who don't already know). And I work in an office building. It's so freaking interesting! Like the whole 'office dynamic' I guess you could say. The one thing I don't like is that I'm constantly having to smile and greet everyone. The greeting I don't have a problem with. I'm rather chatty and always ready to say 'Hello'. It's the smiling that gets me. I don't typically smile really. I think I'm friendly and I do smile when I laugh but I just don't like to smile. My face litterally hurts at the end of the day because I do so little smiling any other time! I'll get used to it though. Because if you don't smile you're percieved as mean. And I don't want people thinking I'm mean. :( Also (and I was expecting this) there a tiers. Like Interns are the lowest obviously then there's the Sound guys, the IT guys, the Lead artist (my boss), The big Boss (my bosses boss), and the Big Big Boss (everybody's boss). Then there are those random ass people who I'm not really sure wtf they do but they're higher than me anyway. And they're all like cliques. I don't think it's intentional (like if I was a sound guy and I was going to lunch I'd automatically wanna ask my fellow sound guy) but it's very apparent when like the Lead Artist goes to lunch with the Interns (which he does on occassion instead of going with the rest of the bosses or some of the wtf people). Anyhow we (the interns who I know all of from school) decided to go to lunch together (bad idea) and were gone for about 2 hours.

Ok Tariq is really picky about his food and kept making all these special requests. The rest of us were freaking out and thinking that the people were gonna spit in our food because of his picky butt! >.<

It's right within my grasp now and-! And-!
My portfolio review (to see if I'm allowed to graduate) was about 3 weeks ago! That's why I wasn't updating, I had to be prepared! Anyhow, I passed and I couldn't be happier. The new quarter just started this week (Monday) and it's the first week of my last quarter of school. Is it weird that I'm a little scared too? I'm afraid of having to go out into the real world and having to get a real job. We'll see what happens.
So next we have a portfolio show! That's when employers come from animation, game, and graphic design places and look at our best work which we have set up in displays. We have give-aways and candy to entice the employers as well as our demo reels, resumes, and business cards. I've decided on one of my give aways (keychains with my logo) and my candy (Personalized M&Ms with my website! and I'll put a sticker with my logo and website on the packaging too!) and I'll buy another kind of candy too, it'll have to be pink, green, and white though, because my logo is a pink green and white cat.

hope this goes well, my portfolio show date is the 17th of December and
Graduation in on the same day! I have to be up by 5am to be at the
Building Museum at 6am and have my stuff all set up by no later than
10am, employers come at 12 and are gone by 2pm which is when friends
and family show up and then at 4:30pm we close up shop and the
Graduation Ceremony starts at 5pm. They told us they'd feed us twice
somewhere in there o.O. They also told us it's unwise to drive because
the Building Museum is a government building next to an FBI parking lot
and we will be towed.
Moving right along...
This past
weekend I went with Janine to Charlestown for her 22nd Birthday! I had
a really good time even though I didn't gamble too much (I decided if I
lost $15 I'd stop) but I had fun being out.
You aren't actually allowed to take pix in the casino...so here we are in the bathroom!
And by the racetrack! Janine's making a weird face...

| It's my birthday! Last night my roomies A and K threw me a surprise party! They invited a few of our friends from school so it was pretty small but made me so happy that I cried! I knew something was going to happen (but I was just expecting a cake!) but this was above and beyond what I ever could have thought of. i've never been given a surprise party before. My friend J was there and he cooked for me (I love his cooking <3). A's bf P gave me books and A gave me a game for my DS (Final Fantasy 4!!!!!) I've never been happier. And things like that are what tells me what kind of person i've become. I know that a few years ago I would have just been selfishly happy to have had a party at all but now I feel like 'Wow, I have friends that actually care a bout me.' I know I don't have a lot of friends. But the ones I do have are awesome.
